Submission Rules and Guidelines

We welcome your film submission to our festival and kindly ask that you review and adhere to the following submission rules:

1. One Category Only: Please submit your film to a single category that best fits its genre and theme. Multiple submissions to different categories are not necessary and may result in disqualification.

2. Agreement Acknowledgment: Prior to submitting your film, carefully read and understand the terms of our submission agreement. By submitting your film, you expressly acknowledge and agree to abide by all terms outlined in the agreement.

3. Screening Fees: Please be aware that our festival operates as a non-profit organization and does not provide payment for screening fees, especially for unsolicited film submissions.

4. Accurate Submission Details: Provide accurate and complete information about your film during the submission process. This includes a concise synopsis, credits, production stills, promotional materials, and any additional materials required for review.

5. Promotional Materials: If available, supply promotional materials such as film stills, press resources, director's headshots, filmography, and relevant video trailer links from platforms like Vimeo and YouTube. Additionally, include your social media handles to facilitate the promotion of your film's selection.

6. Copyright and Rights Clearance: Ensure that your submitted film is free from any legal disputes and that you possess all necessary rights for music, exhibition, and any other elements featured in the film.

7. Submission Withdrawal: Understand that once selections are finalized, withdrawal of your submission will not result in a refund. Please make sure you are committed to your submission before proceeding.

8. Selection Notifications: Upon selection, you will be notified through the provided contact information. It's crucial to respond promptly to accept your invitation within the specified timeframe.

9. Film Format: If your film is chosen, you will need to provide a downloadable HD H.264 file and DCP file within 30 days of the Notification Deadline. Failure to comply may lead to forfeiture of the acceptance offer.

10. Indemnification: As a filmmaker, you agree to indemnify and hold our festival harmless from any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses related to copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, and screening. You are also responsible for any potential loss or damage to the screening videos you submit.

IN THE EVENT OF SELECTION

1. Chosen projects must CONFIRM/ACCEPT their participation within 7 days. Failure to confirm within this timeframe will render the project's selection NULL and VOID.

2. Film Format: Upon selection, filmmakers must furnish a downloadable HD H.264 file and DCP file of their film within 30 days of the Notification Deadline. Neglecting to comply might lead to forfeiture of the acceptance.

3. Indemnification: Filmmakers agree to indemnify and hold Imagine This Women's Film Festival harmless against any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses arising from copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and any potential loss or damage to the entered screening videos.

4. Open Captions Requirement: In addition to the film format specifications, selected films must include open captions. Open captions should be accurately synchronized with the dialogue and sound effects in the film. This requirement is essential for accessibility and ensures inclusivity for all audiences.
